City of Robinson Police Testing
The Robinson Police Department is currently taking Employment/Testing applications for the Position of Police Officer. Employment/Testing applications will be accepted from Monday, February 27th, 2017 through Friday, April 14th, 2017. Applicants who are not graduates of a full-time law enforcement academy in Illinois will be required to take the physical agility test and written test. Applicants certified from a full-time law enforcement academy in Illinois will qualify as a Lateral Entry candidate. The physical agility, and written test will be conducted on May 6th, 2017. Instructions regarding those tests will be mailed to applicants who qualify. The physical agility test will consist of the Power Test which is given to all academy cadets upon entrance. Starting Salary: $49.795.00
Candidates must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
(Candidates must be 21 years of age at time of hire. Candidates can NOT be over the age of 35 upon entrance into the academy. Candidates over the age of 35 can apply as long as they have have been certified by a full time law enforcement academy in the State of Illinois)
- Have a minimum of (60) semester hours of college credit, or its equivalent in quarter hours.
- One (1) year of military service with an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions.
- A graduate of a full-time law enforcement academy in Illinois, or another state.

The City of Robinson Street Department is accepting applications for a Full Time “Laborer/Operator” until March 01, 2017 at 12:00 PM. The job requires graduation from high school or GED and at least 1 year experience in construction and building maintenance work, operation of construction equipment and/or construction of street and drainage related projects, buildings, grounds, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities. Must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License and be able to obtain and maintain an Illinois CDL license. Must also have and maintain an acceptable driving record. Must be able to use hand tools and read simple blueprints and schematics. Must possess trade skills in one or more of the following: Backhoe operator, carpentry, masonry, electrical or street construction and drainage systems. This is a full-time union position and will provide a minimum of 40 hours a week and will include call-out duties.
