Police Department
The Robinson Police Department is currently staffed with 13 full-time sworn officers and one part-time officer, which include the chief, two sergeants, one K-9 unit, two School Resource Officers, and one detective. The RPD also has officers who have expertise in DUI detection, forensic examination of computers and digital devices. The Robinson Police Department has members on both the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System’s Region 9’s Special Response Team and the Mobile Field Force.
Services offered to the public by the Police Department are:
Speakers – Any organization may arrange to have an officer speak before their group about the Police Department or schedule a K-9 demonstration. For more information contact the Chief of Police at 544-2217.
Vacation Protection – Upon request, the police will periodically check any home while the owners are away. It is recommended that all mail and newspapers be stopped and neighbors notified of any absence.
Bicycle Registration – To help recover lost or stolen bicycles, the Police Department offers free bicycle registration. Just bring your bike into the Police Department and provide basic information about yourself and your bicycle, and you will receive a license number that can be used to help return your bike when it is recovered.
